Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift Maintenance professional to join our team on a part-time roster in Port Macquarie. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities during overnight hours. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to urgent repair requests, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and possess a solid understanding of general maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks on equipment and facilities during night shifts.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, addressing issues such as plumbing leaks, electrical problems, and HVAC malfunctions.
- Perform minor repairs and installations, including painting, carpentry, and general handyman tasks.
- Ensure all safety procedures and guidelines are followed during maintenance operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for events or special requirements as needed.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including lighting, security, and fire safety equipment.
- Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide support for emergency situations, demonstrating quick problem-solving skills.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common maintenance issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively during night shifts and as part of a part-time roster.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to building maintenance.
