Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Tech to join our growing team in North Geelong. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various NDT methods to inspect and evaluate the condition of critical infrastructure components and materials. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying defects, ensuring structural integrity, and supporting our commitment to safety and quality across a range of projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections using various methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), and Eddy Current Testing (ECT) on a variety of materials and components.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Document inspection findings accurately, prepare comprehensive reports, and maintain detailed records.
- Operate and maintain NDT equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure timely and effective inspection delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance NDT certifications and skills.
- Provide technical support and guidance as required on NDT related matters.
Required Skills
- Current ASNT Level II or AINDT equivalent certification in at least two NDT methods (e.g., UT, MPT, DPT).
- Proven experience performing NDT inspections in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments for a minimum of 2 years.
- Strong understanding of NDT principles, methodologies, and relevant industry codes/standards (e.g., AS, ISO, ASME).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex technical data.
- Proficiency in generating clear and concise inspection reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid Australian driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional NDT certifications (e.g., Radiographic Testing (RT), Visual Testing (VT), Phased Array UT (PAUT)).
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related technical field.
- Experience with NDT software and data management systems.
- Familiarity with the specific industrial sectors common in the Geelong region (e.g., manufacturing, heavy industry, construction).
