Job Description
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as an Onion Grader for ongoing shifts at our state-of-the-art indoor facility in Dubbo. This role is essential to ensuring the quality and consistency of our produce. You will be responsible for inspecting, sorting, and grading onions, identifying any imperfections, and preparing them for further processing or packaging. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or continue a career in the agricultural sector. Key Responsibilities
- Visually inspect onions for quality, size, shape, and adherence to company standards.
- Identify and remove damaged, bruised, or substandard onions.
- Sort onions into appropriate grades and sizes.
- Operate grading and sorting machinery safely and efficiently (after training).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all hygiene protocols.
- Follow all food safety regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with other general packing shed duties as required.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle differences in produce quality.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic physical fitness for standing for extended periods and occasional light lifting (up to 15kg).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing shed, agricultural environment, or quality control role is an advantage but not essential.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices (training provided).
- Current driver's license and reliable transport to the work site.
