Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Overnight Courier Driver to join our team in Wood Green, London. This role involves operating on quiet, established routes during night hours, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of parcels and packages. You will be responsible for upholding DHL’s high standards of service, managing your route efficiently, and performing necessary vehicle checks. This position offers premium night pay for committed individuals who thrive in an independent, night-time work environment. Full training will be provided on our systems and delivery protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-shift vehicle inspections and ensure the delivery vehicle is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload parcels safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Navigate designated overnight routes in Wood Green and surrounding areas using company-provided tools.
- Deliver packages to various destinations according to established schedules and protocols.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate any issues or delays promptly.
- Represent DHL Express professionally during all interactions and operations.
- Ensure the security of all consignments during transit.
- Complete end-of-shift reports and vehicle checks.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B or equivalent).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25kg.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier or delivery role.
- Knowledge of the Wood Green, London area and surrounding districts.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or logistics software.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.
- Successful completion of a background check.
