Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Parcel Sorter at our busy distribution centre in Sunderland. This is a crucial role within our operations, ensuring that parcels are correctly sorted and moved through the network efficiently. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics with no prior experience necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort parcels by destination using internal systems and procedures
- Load and unload parcels from vehicles, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Scan parcels to record their movement and maintain inventory accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure a safe and efficient environment
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily targets and deadlines
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move parcels weighing up to 20kg repeatedly throughout a shift
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand instructions and labels
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment
- A team player with a positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus, but not essential
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices
