Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and compassionately transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to and from various hospital departments (e.g., admissions, discharge, diagnostic areas, operating rooms).
  • Assist patients with transferring to and from transport equipment, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Verify patient identification and destination before transport.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding transport status and patient needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of transport equipment, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Respond to transport requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
  • Provide basic assistance and emotional support to patients during transport.
  • Collaborate with nursing and other clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
