Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Nurses (PICU) to join our critical care team. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced nurses from around the world looking to build a career in the UK, as full visa sponsorship will be provided for successful candidates. You will be responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents within our state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage advanced life support equipment.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans accordings to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Educate and support families through challenging times, providing clear communication and empathy.
- Participate in ward rounds and contribute to care planning discussions.
- Adhere to Trust policies, national guidelines, and professional nursing standards.
- Actively engage in continuous professional development and training.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (Child Branch) or equivalent international pediatric nursing qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of post-registration experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or a high-dependency pediatric setting.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and excellent assessment skills.
- Proficiency in advanced life support techniques for children (e.g., PALS/APLS desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a challenging environment.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in pediatric critical care nursing.
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, inotropes, and renal replacement therapy.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in pediatric critical care.
- Proficiency in English, ideally demonstrated through IELTS or OET scores meeting NMC requirements.
