Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary / Elementary School Teacher to join our thriving international school community in Manchester. This role is open to talented educators from around the world who are committed to delivering high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with international curricula. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating and supportive classroom environment, catering to the needs of a diverse student population, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons to primary/elementary school students (ages 5-11)
- Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with English as an additional language (EAL)
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and well-being
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement
- Supervise students during non-classroom time, including breaks and school events
- Contribute to the school's extracurricular activity program
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent international teaching qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching at the primary/elementary level
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong understanding of child development and pedagogical best practices
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a related discipline
- Experience teaching an international curriculum (e.g., IB Primary Years Programme, IPC)
- Experience working in a multicultural or international school setting
- Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into teaching and learning
- Additional language proficiency
