Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced QA Engineer to join our growing development team in St Helens. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing and robust quality assurance processes. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, design test plans, execute test cases, and identify defects, playing a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for new and existing software features.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking systems, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure a shared understanding of quality goals and requirements.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of test environments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or software testing.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with database testing and SQL queries.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with performance and security testing.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
