Job Description
Are you an outgoing, energetic individual with a passion for music and community events? Syracuse Media Group is seeking a dynamic Part-Time Promotions Assistant to join our vibrant team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to get hands-on experience in the exciting world of radio and live events. You’ll be the face of our stations at various events, driving our promotions van, setting up engaging displays, and interacting directly with our listeners. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in promotions is necessary!
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and maintain the promotions van safely to various event locations across Central New York.
- Set up and tear down promotional displays, tents, banners, and audio equipment at events.
- Distribute promotional materials, prizes, and giveaways to the public.
- Engage with listeners, answer questions, and represent our radio stations in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
- Assist with event planning, logistics, and on-site coordination as needed.
- Capture photos and videos of events for social media content.
- Maintain accurate inventory of promotional items and equipment.
- Ensure all event activities adhere to company policies and brand guidelines.
- Provide support to the promotions team during station broadcasts and remote events.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Energetic, reliable, and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events dictate.
- Strong team player capable of working independently.
- No prior experience in radio or promotions is required; full training will be provided.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Syracuse local market and surrounding communities.
- Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) for live event posting.
- A general interest in radio broadcasting and the entertainment industry.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
