Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Bruce, ACT. This full-time role involves working on a service roster, operating from a company-provided van, to maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems across various client sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial refrigeration principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. This is a critical role ensuring the operational efficiency and compliance of our clients’ refrigeration assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in refrigeration and AC equipment, including cool rooms, freezers, display cases, and split systems.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and installations of components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
- Respond promptly to service calls as part of an on-call roster, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Conduct refrigerant recovery, charging, and leak detection in accordance with Australian standards.
- Complete accurate service reports, timesheets, and other necessary documentation.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and client site procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.
- Manage vehicle stock and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained.
Required Skills
- Relevant trade qualification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.
- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARC Tick).
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence (manual transmission capability preferred).
- Proven experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance and fault finding.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various refrigeration control systems (e.g., Danfoss, Carel, Dixell).
- Restricted Electrical Licence (Type 2 or similar).
- Experience working in a facilities management or multi-site service environment.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
- First Aid certification.
