Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Nurse to join our dynamic team in Preston. This vital role involves supporting patients in their recovery journey, focusing on restoring function, independence, and quality of life after illness, injury, or surgery. As a Rehabilitation Nurse, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centered care, developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation plans. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation nursing care for a diverse patient caseload.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to develop and review patient-specific rehabilitation goals and care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress, document observations, and communicate changes effectively within the care team.
  • Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation techniques, self-care strategies, and prevention of complications.
  • Provide skilled nursing interventions, including wound care, medication administration, and management of complex medical needs.
  • Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their dignity and respect are maintained throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to all Trust policies and national guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK, or eligibility for registration (with evidence of application/process initiated).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration nursing experience, preferably in an acute or rehabilitation setting.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a demanding workload.
  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-registration qualification or specialist course in rehabilitation nursing or a related field.
  • Experience working within an NHS environment.
  • Competency in basic life support and advanced clinical skills.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to rehabilitation nursing.
