Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Reservoir Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sheffield. In this role, you will be instrumental in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and managing subsurface assets through detailed reservoir characterization, simulation, and surveillance. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to develop robust reservoir management strategies, evaluate drilling opportunities, and contribute to long-term field development plans. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform reservoir simulation studies to forecast production and optimize recovery strategies.
  • Conduct well test analysis, material balance calculations, and decline curve analysis.
  • Evaluate infill drilling locations, workover candidates, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain reservoir models using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists, petrophysicists, and production engineers to integrate subsurface data.
  • Monitor reservoir performance and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in peer reviews and technical workshops to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to the economic evaluation of projects and asset valuations.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, CMG).
  • Strong understanding of fluid flow in porous media, reservoir characterization, and production forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with unconventional reservoirs or gas storage projects.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with economic evaluation software and principles.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
