Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking for a truly rewarding part-time opportunity? Pathways of Hope is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our team for night shifts at our Irvine residential facility. In this crucial role, you will provide essential support and supervision to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during overnight hours. This position offers a unique chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals, providing a stable and supportive environment as they work towards a brighter future. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor residents and facility premises throughout the night to ensure safety and security.
- Respond to resident needs, emergencies, and concerns promptly and with empathy.
- Maintain a calm and supportive environment during overnight hours.
- Document resident activities, incidents, and progress accurately and thoroughly.
- Perform light administrative duties and prepare for the day shift handover.
- Assist with facility tidiness and minor household tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
- Reliability and punctuality for night shift schedules.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a residential care setting, social services, or customer service.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
- Some college coursework in social work, psychology, or a related field.
