Job Description
Join Kier Group as a Road Construction Hand on a part-time day roster in Salisbury. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for motivated individuals keen to start a career in construction. You will assist our skilled teams with various tasks crucial to road building and maintenance, working in an on-site environment. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is required. We are looking for reliable, physically fit, and safety-conscious individuals ready to contribute to essential infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled operatives with general road construction tasks, including excavation, laying materials, and compacting surfaces.
- Load and unload materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work site, ensuring all tools are stored correctly.
- Strictly adhere to all company health and safety policies, procedures, and site rules.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools under direct supervision.
- Work collaboratively as an integral part of the on-site team.
- Report any potential hazards or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card (can be obtained during training).
- Previous experience in any outdoor, manual labour, or physically demanding role.
- Full UK driving licence.
