Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Crate Builder (Mate) to join our growing team in Staten Island. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to learn a skilled trade. As a Crate Builder Mate, you will work alongside experienced builders, assisting in the fabrication of custom wooden shipping crates. You will learn to use various hand and power tools, including nail guns, saws, and measuring equipment, to assemble crates according to precise specifications. Full training will be provided to ensure your success and adherence to our high-quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior crate builders in all stages of crate fabrication.
  • Learn to accurately measure, cut, and prepare wooden components.
  • Operate power tools, including nail guns, saws, and drills, under supervision and after training.
  • Assemble wooden crates, skids, and pallets according to blueprints and job orders.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure structural integrity and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions (written and verbal).
