Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference and eager to learn how to measure the real-world impact of social programs? United Way of Delaware County is seeking a motivated Social Impact Measurement & Evaluation Intern. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience in evaluation, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collecting, analyzing, and reporting on the effectiveness of our community initiatives. You will work closely with our program teams to understand how our interventions translate into tangible positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection and organization of program data, including surveys, interviews, and performance metrics.
  • Support the development and refinement of data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Contribute to data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis under direct supervision.
  • Help prepare reports and presentations summarizing program outcomes and impact for stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and learning sessions related to measurement, evaluation, and impact assessment.
  • Research best practices in social impact measurement and evaluation to inform our strategies.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in social justice, community development, or non-profit work.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
  • No prior experience in measurement and evaluation is required; full training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in social sciences, public administration, statistics, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis concepts.
  • Previous volunteer experience with a non-profit organization.
