Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Stable Hand to join our team in Wauchope, NSW. This regional position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on with horses in a beautiful rural setting. The role involves daily care, feeding, and general stable management. We value a strong work ethic and a genuine love for animals. While previous experience is a plus, it is not strictly required as full training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a full-time position with the possibility of on-site accommodation and consistent weekly pay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily feeding and watering of horses according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
  • Muck out stables, maintain cleanliness of stalls, and ensure fresh bedding.
  • Turn out and bring in horses from paddocks, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Groom horses, including brushing, bathing, and basic health checks.
  • Assist with veterinary and farrier appointments as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tack rooms, feed rooms, and other stable areas.
  • Report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior in horses to management.
  • Assist with basic property maintenance tasks around the stable area.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment.

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and repetitive motion.
  • Genuine love for animals, especially horses.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with horses or large animals (though not essential).
  • Valid driver's license and own transport.
  • First Aid certification.
