Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-driven Start-up Incubator Lead to join our team in Footscray. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant, supportive, and active community within our incubator space. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with our resident startups, facilitating networking opportunities, organizing engaging events, and ensuring a positive and productive environment for all members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the startup ecosystem, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to community building and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Cultivate and maintain a thriving, inclusive community within the Footscray incubator space.
• Act as the primary point of contact and support for all resident startups and entrepreneurs.
• Organize and execute a diverse calendar of community events, workshops, networking sessions, and pitch nights.
• Facilitate connections between startups, mentors, investors, and corporate partners.
• Identify and address the needs of resident startups, providing resources and guidance where necessary.
• Manage the onboarding process for new startups, ensuring a smooth integration into the community.
• Gather feedback from community members to continuously improve programs and services.
• Promote Stone & Chalk's values and opportunities within the local startup ecosystem.
• Collaborate with the broader Stone & Chalk team to align local activities with national initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in community management, event coordination, or startup ecosystem roles.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build rapport and strong relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Demonstrated passion for entrepreneurship and the technology startup landscape.
• Proactive problem-solver with a customer-centric approach.
• Proficiency in using CRM software and community engagement platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience working directly within a startup, incubator, or accelerator environment.
• Understanding of the Victorian startup ecosystem and key stakeholders.
• Experience with content creation for community engagement (e.g., newsletters, social media).
