Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit individual to join our heritage cleaning team as a Statue & Monument Power Washer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preservation of significant historical and cultural sites across Trowbridge and the surrounding Wiltshire area. You will be responsible for carefully and effectively cleaning statues, monuments, and other outdoor heritage assets using specialized power washing equipment. Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in safe operation techniques and heritage conservation best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate high-pressure power washing equipment to clean statues, monuments, and other outdoor heritage structures.
- Prepare work sites, including setting up safety barriers and ensuring public safety during cleaning operations.
- Assess the condition of surfaces prior to cleaning and select appropriate methods and pressures to avoid damage.
- Mix and apply cleaning solutions according to specifications, ensuring environmentally responsible practices.
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including working at heights if required.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating progress and any issues to supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Required Skills

- Strong attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols and heritage conservation guidelines.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Valid UK driving license is preferred due to travel between sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor maintenance, landscaping, or cleaning services.
- Familiarity with operating power washing or similar equipment (though full training is provided).
- An interest in history, heritage, or outdoor preservation.
- Experience working with public interaction in outdoor environments.
