Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from commercial developments to infrastructure and public buildings. You will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and delivery of structural solutions, contributing to projects that impact communities and landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake structural analysis and design calculations for various building types and materials.
  • Prepare design reports, specifications, and technical drawings in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, M&E engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, providing technical support during the construction phase.
  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge within the team.
  • Ensure designs meet sustainability objectives and client requirements.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in structural design.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., Staad.Pro, Etabs, Robot Structural Analysis).
  • Strong understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other relevant CAD software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards it with a recognised institution (ICE/IStructE).
  • Experience in BIM environments (e.g., Revit Structures).
  • Knowledge of various construction materials, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
  • Experience in delivering sustainable and low-carbon design solutions.
