Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to lead our complex supply chain operations. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of our supply chain, from sourcing raw materials and production planning to logistics, inventory management, and distribution to global markets. The ideal candidate will optimize our supply chain for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and resilience, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of our premium products. This position is open to international applicants who are eager to contribute their expertise and leadership to a dynamic and growing organization in the heart of British Columbia’s wine country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company objectives and growth plans.
- Manage and optimize global logistics, including import/export processes, freight forwarding, and warehousing.
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and demand forecasting to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics partners to secure favorable terms and build strong, collaborative relationships.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory changes.
- Implement advanced supply chain technologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and visibility.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations, customs requirements, and food safety standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Proven track record of optimizing supply chain operations in a manufacturing or consumer goods environment, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong understanding of international logistics, customs regulations, and global trade compliance.
- Expertise in demand planning, inventory control, and supply chain software systems.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, SCPro).
- Experience with ERP systems specific to the winery or beverage industry.
- Knowledge of sustainable supply chain practices and initiatives.
