Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our dynamic team, focusing on NBN Work. This field-based role involves the installation, activation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of NBN services at customer premises and network points across the Parramatta region and surrounding areas. You will be a key contributor to ensuring reliable and high-speed internet access for Australian homes and businesses. The successful candidate will be provided with a company vehicle, tools, and ongoing training to excel in this essential role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform NBN installations, activations, and service modifications at various customer premises.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical faults and network issues on NBN infrastructure.
- Conduct routine maintenance, testing, and upgrades of telecommunications equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to NBN Co standards and specifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining technical procedures and solutions.
- Accurately complete all required field reports, documentation, and work orders.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent working condition.
Required Skills
- Proven technical proficiency in telecommunications, data cabling, or related fields.
- Ability to effectively use diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
- Valid unrestricted Australian driver's license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform field duties, including climbing ladders and working in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Telecommunications or an equivalent trade qualification.
- Prior experience with NBN Co systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
