Job Description

Innovatex Advanced Materials is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Textile Engineering Intern to join our dynamic R&D team focused on performance fabrics. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the entire lifecycle of advanced textile development, from concept to prototype. You will work alongside experienced textile engineers and material scientists, contributing to real-world projects that involve researching new fibers, optimizing weaving techniques, and testing material properties. This is an ideal role for an aspiring textile engineer eager to apply academic knowledge in a practical, fast-paced industrial setting and contribute to the next generation of high-performance materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the research and development of new high-performance fibers and textile structures.
  • Conduct laboratory testing of fabric properties, including tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and moisture wicking.
  • Support the design and optimization of weaving, knitting, and finishing processes for specialty fabrics.
  • Participate in pilot production runs and quality control assessments of experimental materials.
  • Analyze data from experiments and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on project tasks and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Maintain organized laboratory records and contribute to a safe working environment.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of textile manufacturing processes and fabric properties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and a strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (academic projects, extracurriculars, or previous internships) involving textile testing or material characterization.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for textile design or simulation.
  • Knowledge of advanced material characterization techniques.
  • An understanding of sustainable textile practices and materials.
