Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Remote Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our dedicated healthcare call center team. In this 100% remote role, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments across our various departments and clinics. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience, utilizing our scheduling software to manage appointments accurately while adhering to privacy and confidentiality guidelines. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment. Full training on our specific systems and protocols will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments via phone and online platforms efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide clear and concise information to patients regarding appointment preparation, required documentation, and clinic locations (if applicable).
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, addressing patient inquiries with empathy and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information, ensuring data accuracy in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff and other departments to coordinate patient care and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with all healthcare regulations (e.g., PHIPA).
  • Document all patient interactions and scheduling activities thoroughly and accurately.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the call center operations.
