Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Casual Traffic Marshalls for various council-organised events throughout the year. As a Traffic Marshall, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic, contributing directly to the success and safety of our community gatherings. This role offers flexible hours and is perfect for those looking to engage with the community and work outdoors. Full training and induction will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals new to traffic control or event operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely and efficiently around event sites, car parks, and access points.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic management signage, barriers, and cones according to event plans.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with the public, event attendees, emergency services, and fellow team members.
- Monitor traffic flow and pedestrian movement, adapting to changing conditions and ensuring public safety.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic management procedures, safety regulations, and event operational guidelines.
- Assist with site access control for authorised vehicles and personnel.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or safety concerns promptly to event supervisors.
- Provide general assistance and information to the public as required.
Required Skills
- Reliability and strong punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team.

- Capacity to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in traffic management, event support, security, or a similar customer-facing role.
- A valid Western Australian C Class (Car) Driver's License.
- Current First Aid certification.
- Possession of a White Card (Construction Induction Card).
