Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in public transport? West Midlands Trains is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Train Station Platform Attendant. This is an entry-level position based at Coventry Station, perfect for those with a passion for helping people and a commitment to safety. Full comprehensive training will be provided, so no previous railway experience is necessary. You will be a crucial point of contact for passengers, ensuring their safety and providing assistance to make their journey as smooth as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to passengers on station platforms.
- Ensure the safe boarding and alighting of passengers, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Monitor platforms for safety hazards, crowd control, and general cleanliness.
- Deliver clear and timely public announcements regarding train services, delays, and platform changes.
- Answer passenger enquiries about train schedules, tickets, and connecting services.
- Liaise with train crew, control centre, and other station staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or suspicious activities according to company procedures.
- Assist with the efficient flow of passengers during peak times and special events.

- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of the local Coventry area and public transport connections.
