Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Node.js Developer to join our innovative technology team based in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced developer to contribute to critical projects that power our nationwide operations and enhance customer experiences. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Node.js.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technology road mapping.
- Ensure security and data protection measures are implemented.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and its paradigms.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Ability to write unit and integration tests.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.
- Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
