Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry into the logistics and warehousing industry with full support and training? Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Forklift Drivers in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. No prior experience is required, as we are dedicated to funding your forklift licence and providing comprehensive, hands-on training to ensure your success. This is a full-time opportunity to develop valuable skills, contribute to a vital supply chain, and become an integral part of a leading Western Canadian organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided forklift operation and safety training sessions.
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (reach truck, counterbalance, order picker, etc.) upon successful completion of training and certification.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using a forklift or other power equipment.
- Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance tasks, reporting any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical capability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or general labour environment (not required for the trainee role, but considered an asset).
- Basic computer literacy for inventory scanning systems.
