Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking dedicated and eager individuals to join our team as Trainee Port Security Officers for a crucial government facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. No prior experience is required! We provide comprehensive, paid training to equip you with all the necessary skills and certifications to excel in this vital role. As a Trainee Port Security Officer, you will be an integral part of maintaining the safety and security of a government port facility, protecting assets, personnel, and sensitive information. Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required training modules and certifications successfully.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify potential security threats.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas within the port facility, both on foot and via vehicle.
- Control access points, verify credentials, and register visitors according and procedures.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following established protocols.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure compliance and maintain order.
- Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with fellow security personnel, facility staff, and authorized visitors.
- Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and provide support during drills.
- Perform inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles and cargo as required.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, drug screenings, and security clearances.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and system monitoring.
- Capable of standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification (training will be provided if not already held).
- Familiarity with basic security concepts or emergency procedures.
