TradeLink UK Services Ltd. is offering an exceptional opportunity for a Trainee Tariff & Trade Classifier to join our growing team in Aberdeen. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn, as full comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a crucial role in accurately classifying goods according to national and international tariff codes, ensuring compliance with all trade regulations for government-related imports and exports. No prior experience in tariff classification is necessary – we will equip you with all the knowledge and skills required to excel in this specialized field.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in a structured training program to learn about tariff classification, customs regulations, and trade compliance for government commerce.
- Assist senior classifiers with the accurate classification of goods using national and international tariff systems (e.g., HS, UK Integrated Tariff).
- Research and interpret trade regulations, customs duties, and import/export requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to trade classifications and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and compliant processing of trade-related documentation.
- Identify and escalate potential compliance issues or discrepancies to senior staff.
- Stay informed on changes in trade legislation and tariff codes through continuous learning and internal updates.
