You will play a crucial role in accurately classifying goods according to national and international tariff codes, ensuring compliance with all trade regulations for government-related imports and exports. No prior experience in tariff classification is necessary – we will equip you with all the knowledge and skills required to excel in this specialized field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured training program to learn about tariff classification, customs regulations, and trade compliance for government commerce.
  • Assist senior classifiers with the accurate classification of goods using national and international tariff systems (e.g., HS, UK Integrated Tariff).
  • Research and interpret trade regulations, customs duties, and import/export requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to trade classifications and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and compliant processing of trade-related documentation.
  • Identify and escalate potential compliance issues or discrepancies to senior staff.
  • Stay informed on changes in trade legislation and tariff codes through continuous learning and internal updates.
