Job Description
Join the Canadian Tire team in Sydney, Nova Scotia as a Full-Time, Permanent Warehouse Picker Packer. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in logistics and warehousing, as no prior experience is required. We provide comprehensive training to ensure you are confident and competent in your role. You will be an integral part of our distribution center, responsible for accurately picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring our customers receive their products efficiently. We are looking for motivated individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a dynamic warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick products from warehouse locations based on order requirements.
- Carefully pack items into appropriate containers for safe transport.
- Verify product quantities and ensure items match order specifications.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely (training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read labels and count items).
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems or RF scanners (not required, training provided).
- Basic computer proficiency.
