Job Description
Woolworths Group is offering an exciting Winter Internship opportunity in Supply Chain Management at our Townsville operations. This role is designed for motivated individuals eager to gain practical experience in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Winter Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of supply chain operations, logistics, and inventory management. This is an entry-level position perfect for students or recent graduates with little to no prior experience, as comprehensive training and mentorship will be provided. You will contribute to real projects and gain valuable insights into how a major retailer manages its supply chain from end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Supply Chain team with daily operational tasks and administrative duties.
- Support data analysis related to inventory, logistics, and supplier performance.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for enhancing efficiency.
- Shadow team members in various departments to understand different facets of the supply chain.
- Help prepare reports and presentations on supply chain metrics and projects.
- Learn and apply best practices in inventory control, forecasting, and transportation management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth flow of goods and information.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Strong interest in supply chain operations and the retail industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of enthusiasm, proactivity, and willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of supply chain principles or concepts (e.g., inventory management, logistics).
- Previous experience with data entry or analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel, Power BI) is a plus, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
