Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Bath Bespoke Joinery as a Wood Shop Sanding Assistant. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to learn the fundamentals of woodworking finishing. You will be responsible for preparing wooden components for finishing by meticulously sanding surfaces to ensure a smooth, flawless result. This role operates in a dusty environment, but full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. Comprehensive training will be given to ensure you master our sanding techniques and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by hand or using power sanders.
- Ensure all components meet quality standards for smoothness and finish.
- Inspect sanded pieces for defects, grain direction, and consistency.
- Maintain a clean and organized sanding station.
- Adhere strictly to all workshop safety procedures, including consistent use of provided PPE.
- Assist with other general workshop duties as required.
- Learn and apply various sanding techniques for different wood types and finishes.
