Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented National Statistics Data Collector to join our team in Repentigny, Quebec. This hybrid role involves both field-based data collection and office-based data entry and verification. You will be responsible for conducting surveys and interviews with individuals and households, ensuring the accurate and confidential collection of vital statistical information. This position requires someone who is comfortable engaging with the public, highly organized, and committed to upholding data quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person and phone interviews following established survey protocols and ethical guidelines.
- Travel within assigned geographic areas to perform field data collection, including scheduling appointments and managing routes efficiently.
- Accurately record and document all collected data using provided tools and software.
- Verify data for completeness and consistency in both field and office settings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all respondent information.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals are met.
- Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices and new methodologies.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for field work.
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is essential for this region.
- Ability to adapt to various environments and interact with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data collection, market research, or customer service.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
- Post-secondary education in social sciences, statistics, or a related field.
