Job Description

Join Halifax Transit as a Subway / Metro Station Attendant and become a welcoming face for our city’s commuters. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist passengers with wayfinding, fare information, and general inquiries.
  • Monitor station platforms and concourses to ensure passenger safety and security.
  • Operate station equipment, including fare gates and escalators, and assist passengers with accessibility needs.
  • Respond to minor incidents and emergencies, following established protocols, and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
  • Provide clear and concise announcements regarding service updates, delays, or emergency procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the station environment, including platforms, waiting areas, and ticketing zones.
  • Handle lost and found items according to company policy.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or suspicious activities to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
