Job Description
Join Horizon Health Network as a Public Health Administration Assistant. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in public health administration. We are looking for a motivated and organized individual to provide essential administrative support to our public health teams. No prior experience in public health is required; we offer comprehensive training and a supportive environment to help you succeed. You will be instrumental in supporting our mission to promote and protect the health of our communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to public health program coordinators and staff.
- Manage and organize office files, both digital and physical, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with data entry and maintaining various public health databases.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as required.
- Respond to inquiries and direct calls to appropriate departments.
- Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Support event coordination for public health campaigns and workshops.
- Order and maintain office supplies.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in office administration, business, or a related field (or equivalent life experience).
- Familiarity with public health concepts or community services.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
