Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Compensation & Benefits / Rewards Manager to join our Human Resources team in Shawinigan, Quebec. This critical role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract, retain, and motivate our talented workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in total rewards. This position is open to candidates requiring sponsorship, reflecting our commitment to sourcing global talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative compensation and benefits programs, including base pay structures, incentive plans, health and wellness benefits, and retirement programs.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to ensure compensation and benefits programs remain competitive and aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant provincial and federal employment laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  • Manage vendor relationships for benefits administration, ensuring high-quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver communication strategies to educate employees on their total rewards package.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to HR business partners and management on compensation and benefits-related matters.
  • Oversee job evaluation and salary benchmarking processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on compensation and benefits program effectiveness and costs.
  • Participate in the annual budget planning process for compensation and benefits.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members within the HR department on rewards principles and practices.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian compensation and benefits legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation or equivalent.
  • Experience with large, complex organizations.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce and managing international benefits programs.
