Job Description

Are you looking for a new career path with excellent earning potential and long-term security? DHL Supply Chain is offering an incredible opportunity for aspiring drivers to become fully qualified HGV / CDL Drivers. We are committed to investing in talent, which is why we will pay for your full training and tests to help you secure your Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV licence. No prior HGV experience is required – just a valid UK driving licence (Category B) and a dedication to learn and succeed. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to develop a professional driving career with a global leader in logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate in all scheduled HGV / CDL training sessions.
  • Learn and adhere to all road safety regulations, vehicle operation procedures, and company policies.
  • Successfully pass all theoretical and practical driving tests required to obtain a Class 1 HGV / CDL licence.
  • Upon qualification, safely and efficiently operate Heavy Goods Vehicles for the transportation of goods across various routes.
  • Complete vehicle checks and maintain accurate records as required by regulatory standards and company policy.
  • Represent DHL Supply Chain professionally at all times while on the road and interacting with customers.
  • Communicate effectively with depot staff, dispatchers, and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Valid UK driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to commit to a comprehensive training programme.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new environments.
  • Good communication skills and a team player mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics or road safety.
  • Previous experience in a role requiring attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
  • Strong geographical awareness or experience with route planning.
