Job Description

Spire Healthcare is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Sleep Clinic Night Technician to join our dedicated team in Sunderland. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn and contribute to improving patients’ lives. You will receive comprehensive training to become proficient in monitoring patients during sleep studies, ensuring their comfort and collecting vital data. This is a night shift role, playing a crucial part in diagnosing and managing various sleep disorders. No prior experience in sleep clinics is required – just a willingness to learn and a commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform the setup and calibration of sleep study equipment on patients.
  • Monitor patients throughout the night during polysomnography (PSG) studies.
  • Identify and document sleep stages, respiratory events, limb movements, and cardiac rhythm.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the sleep study.
  • Respond to patient needs and equipment alarms promptly and appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and study logs.
  • Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Assist with the basic scoring of sleep studies under supervision.
  • Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
