Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Systems Lead to join our dynamic Agricultural Technology team in Geraldton, WA. This pivotal role involves leading the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of advanced irrigation systems for our agricultural clients. You will be instrumental in integrating smart farming technologies, ensuring efficient water use, and delivering measurable improvements in crop yield and farm productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of new and upgraded irrigation systems, including drip, pivot, and sprinkler technologies.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of irrigation infrastructure.
- Conduct on-site consultations with clients to understand their needs and recommend tailored irrigation solutions.
- Integrate and support agricultural technology solutions, such as remote monitoring, sensor-based irrigation, and automation.
- Provide technical training and support to clients and internal team members on irrigation best practices and new technologies.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex irrigation system issues, offering timely and effective resolutions.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for irrigation projects.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in irrigation and water management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of agricultural irrigation systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, water management principles, and pump systems.
- Familiarity with various irrigation technologies (e.g., drip, pivot, micro-irrigation).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Proficiency with relevant software for irrigation design or management (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, or proprietary systems).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agricultural Engineering, Hydrology, Agronomy, or a related field.
