Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Support professional to join our team in Port Lincoln, focusing specifically on preschool settings. This role involves providing essential assistance to educators, supporting the daily operations of preschool programs, and contributing to a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to implement educational programs, assist with child supervision, and ensure the well-being and safety of all children in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist preschool educators with the implementation of daily educational programs and activities.
- Supervise children during playtime, learning activities, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children as directed by educators, catering to individual learning needs.
- Help prepare and maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks, record-keeping, and communication with parents/guardians as required.
- Support children with personal care routines, including meal times, toileting, and hygiene.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of learning programs.
- Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and relevant child protection legislation.
Required Skills
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and early learning frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from educators.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Experience with diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
