Job Description
As an Auto Auction Lot Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving a wide variety of vehicles around our auction lot, preparing them for sale, and organizing them for transport. This is a hands-on role that requires constant movement, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. You’ll spend your day driving different makes and models, ensuring they are positioned correctly and ready for their next destination. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a diverse range of vehicles (cars, trucks, SUVs, vans) on the auction lot.
- Park and stage vehicles according to lot diagrams and operational procedures.
- Inspect vehicles for existing damage prior to moving and report any new damage immediately.
- Fuel vehicles and perform basic fluid checks as needed.
- Ensure vehicles are clean and presentable for auction events.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as traffic laws.
- Work effectively and professionally in varying weather conditions.
- Assist with other lot operations as directed by supervisors.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3 years)
- Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observation skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods
- Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in a high-volume driving role (e.g., car rental, dealership, valet)
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and types
- Familiarity with auction lot operations
