Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Fair Work Support Officer to join our Industrial Relations team. This role provides essential support and advice on Australian employment law, focusing on the Fair Work Act, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and other industrial instruments. You will be instrumental in assisting our internal teams and clients with compliance, dispute resolution, and general industrial relations inquiries, ensuring fair and equitable workplaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely advice and support on Fair Work legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Assist in the research and analysis of industrial relations issues, preparing summaries and reports.
  • Draft correspondence, submissions, and other documents related to industrial relations matters.
  • Support internal stakeholders and clients with compliance requirements under Australian employment law.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in industrial relations legislation and policy.
  • Assist with dispute resolution processes, including conciliation and mediation preparation.
  • Manage and track industrial relations inquiries and cases, ensuring thorough record-keeping.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Fair Work Act 2009 and Australian industrial relations framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in an industrial relations, human resources, or legal support role.
  • Familiarity with case management systems or HR information systems.
