Job Description

Starlight Event Logistics is seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our concert teardown crew. This crucial role involves the swift and safe dismantling of stage equipment, lighting rigs, sound systems, and other event infrastructure after concerts and live events. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, reliable, and able to work during late-night hours. Full training will be provided, focusing on safety protocols and efficient teardown techniques. This is an on-site position based at various event venues in and around Red Deer, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely dismantle and pack stage equipment, sound systems, lighting, and other event infrastructure.
  • Load and unload trucks with equipment, adhering to proper lifting techniques and safety guidelines.
  • Work efficiently as part of a team to meet strict teardown deadlines.
  • Follow all safety procedures and instructions from crew leaders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment during teardown.
  • Adhere to event schedules, which often involve late-night and early morning shifts.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs/23 kg) repeatedly and safely.
  • Physical stamina and endurance for long periods of standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Reliable transportation to and from various event venues in and around Red Deer.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions effectively.
  • Availability to work late-night shifts, weekends, and holidays as per event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in general labor, warehousing, or event setup/teardown is an asset.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating other heavy machinery.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
