Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Railway Station Assistant to support the operations and public interface aspects of our public transport infrastructure in Launceston. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth flow of information, maintaining station cleanliness, and assisting the public with general inquiries related to station facilities and safety protocols. You will be a key point of contact, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all station users and supporting the broader public transport network.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, offering assistance and information where required.
- Monitor station platforms and waiting areas for safety and cleanliness, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with the management of public access to station facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with passengers regarding potential disruptions or general information.
- Handle lost and found items according to company procedures.
- Conduct regular checks of station equipment and infrastructure, escalating maintenance needs.
- Support emergency procedures and evacuation efforts as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain a professional and helpful demeanor at all times.
