Job Description
The City of Joondalup is seeking a dedicated Civil Works Offsider to join our dynamic Local Council Crew. This is an exciting full-time opportunity based in Edgewater, Western Australia, perfect for individuals eager to start a career in civil construction and maintenance. We are looking for motivated team players who are keen to learn and contribute to the upkeep of our vibrant community infrastructure. As a Civil Works Offsider, you will play a crucial support role within our civil construction and maintenance teams. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with no prior experience in civil works, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. You will assist skilled operators and tradespeople with various tasks related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of the City’s assets, including roads, footpaths, drainage systems, and public amenities. Your willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work safely will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the setup and pack-down of work sites, including traffic management as directed.
- Performing manual labour tasks such as digging, trenching, shovelling, and raking.
- Operating hand and power tools under supervision.
- Assisting with the installation and repair of various civil infrastructure components.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures and guidelines.
- Supporting other team members as required to ensure project completion.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current valid WA C-class Driver's License.
- Construction Induction White Card (essential requirement to work on a construction site).
