Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Copy Lead to join our growing content and brand agency team in Parramatta. This pivotal role requires a creative leader with a strong portfolio in copywriting, content strategy, and brand storytelling. The Copy Lead will be responsible for conceptualising, developing, and overseeing compelling copy across a variety of channels and client projects. You will mentor junior copywriters, ensure brand voice consistency, and collaborate closely with art directors, strategists, and account teams to deliver exceptional creative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of creative concepts and compelling copy for integrated campaigns, digital content, brand narratives, and more.
  • Manage and mentor a team of junior copywriters, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional growth.
  • Ensure all copy aligns with client brand guidelines, strategic objectives, and agency quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with art directors, designers, strategists, and account managers from concept to execution.
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting creative work and articulating strategic rationale.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in copywriting and content marketing.
  • Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Contribute to new business pitches and proposals with innovative and persuasive copy.
  • Drive continuous improvement in copywriting processes and creative output.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of professional copywriting experience within an agency environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and ability to translate complex ideas into engaging copy.
  • Expertise in crafting copy for various platforms including digital, social, print, and video scripts.
  • Excellent understanding of brand strategy and effective storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Experience with UX writing and SEO best practices.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative and strategic copywriting work, including examples of integrated campaigns.
  • Previous experience working with diverse client industries.
