Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and driven Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Southampton. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge machine learning models and solutions that address complex business challenges across various industries. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to translate analytical insights into robust, scalable, and production-ready systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable machine learning algorithms and systems.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines for model training and inference.
- Collaborate with data scientists to transition prototypes into production-grade solutions.
- Optimize existing ML models for performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Monitor and maintain deployed ML models, ensuring their reliability and effectiveness.
- Research and evaluate new machine learning technologies and techniques.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and contribute to best practices.
- Document technical designs, processes, and solutions clearly and concisely.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python (familiarity with libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and algorithms (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning)
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Pandas
- Understanding of MLOps principles and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related quantitative field
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
- Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Experience with model interpretability and explainable AI techniques
- Contributions to open-source projects or relevant publications
