Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Ice Sculpture Setup Assistant to join our dynamic events team in Nottingham. This role is crucial for ensuring the flawless presentation of intricate ice sculptures at various events hosted at our prestigious venues. You will be responsible for assisting with the careful transport, assembly, and precise placement of these delicate art pieces in often cold environments. If you possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and are comfortable working in cooler temperatures, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile events and develop valuable skills within the luxury hospitality sector. Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in handling our unique installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the careful loading, unloading, and transport of ice sculptures and associated equipment to event locations.
- Support the lead sculptor and events team in the precise assembly and placement of ice sculptures according to design specifications.
- Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are upheld, particularly in cold environments.
- Handle and store specialized tools, lighting, and display materials with care.
- Monitor the condition of ice sculptures during events and assist with minor adjustments or maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider events and catering teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Assist with the dismantling and removal of ice sculptures and equipment post-event.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively and comfortably in cold environments for extended periods.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy, delicate objects (up to 25kg) safely.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in handling valuable items.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an event setup, production, or logistics role.
- Experience handling delicate or unusually shaped items.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and equipment.
- Full UK driving license with access to own transport is a plus.
